TH - Hello, can you tell everyone your names, name of your boat, and how long you have been berthing at Tarbert Harbour Marina.
Hello, we are Chris and Louise Welfare and our boat is called Athos. We have been berthing in Tarbert for one year.
TH - What are your favourite parts of berthing at Tarbert Harbour Marina.
One of the main reasons for us coming to Tarbert is for the sheltered Marina. Also, the generous space of the berths makes for easier manoeuvring.
TH - Do you have any recommendations to share with new potential berthers at Tarbert.
There is a good reason to berth your vessel in Tarbert Harbour Marina. The winter storms have little or no effect on the boats and because of the orientation of Loch Fyne, the prevailing wind allows for sailing all year round.
We love the hiking opportunities in the area plus of course the wonderful wildlife (how many harbours have a seal colony!)
TH - What is your favourite sailing memory / memories.
Sailing in the Kyles of Bute is probably one of the most beautiful experiences we've had on the boat. Also, spending time sailing up the Truro river in Cornwall - again very beautiful and lots of wildlife.
TH - What is your favourite time of year at Tarbert Harbour Marina.
There is no particular time of year that we prefer although summer is warmer. The boat can be used all year. When the sun shines there is no better place in the world.
