Bulletin Board

We look forward to welcoming all our permanent customers and visiting yachts back to Tarbert, as restrictions from lockdown in Scotland continue to be gradually eased.

Customers will at last be able to return to their vessels and stay on board overnight once again as a single household.

The chandlery and offices will be fully open from 9.00am to 5.00pm including Saturday and Sunday.  Restricted access however, will still be in place with only 2 people allowed in the chandlery/reception at any one time.

We would remind all those visiting Tarbert over the next few weeks and months to continue to observe the 2-metre social distancing guidelines especially while in the chandlery, facilities block and on the pontoons.

In addition, face masks should be worn when anywhere indoors on the site.

Customers should continue to wash or sanitise hands before entering buildings or using shared equipment such as trolleys.

We have implemented increased hygiene measures at the marina, and have procedures in place to help keep staff and customers safe:

  • Various hand sanitiser stations are in place throughout the marina. Please use these regularly, especially after handling equipment commonly used by others.
  • 2 people maximum in the chandlery/reception at any time.
  • Card payments are preferred where possible.
  • If fuel is required, prior notification would be much appreciated.
  • Please adhere to social distancing on the pontoons.

We look forward to having you back at Tarbert Marina and hope everyone enjoys a great season on the water, stay safe and please ensure to carry out safety checks prior to using your boat.

Kind Regards

Tarbert Harbour Team

Extension to Harbour Car Park Completed!

The Harbour Board are pleased to announce that the extension to the Harbour Car Park was completed at the end of February.

The extension includes for an additional 20 car parking spaces and the installation of a dual EV charging point and was phase 3 of an ambitious development plan for the Harbour which, included a new Shower/toilet block, the conversion of the old toilet block into a modern Harbour reception/chandlery and office facility and a dedicated waste store.

The car park extension work was carried out by George McNaughton & Son and was made possible with a grant of just over £111k from the Tarbert and Lochgilphead Regeneration Fund through Argyll & Bute Council.  The remainder of the funds came from Harbour reserves.  The installation of the dual EV Charging Point was made possible by a grant through the ‘Energy Saving Trust’.

Duncan Cunningham, Chairman of the Board of Trustees said:

“The Board of Trustees are delighted with the much needed extension to car parking facilities.  The recent Covid-19 Pandemic had delayed work on the project by almost 12 months, however its completion is a great boost to the Harbour’s plans for providing the necessary facilities to meet the demands and expectations of all visitors.

The funding from the Argyll and Bute Council’s ‘Tarbert and Lochgilphead Regeneration Fund’ helped to progress this project to its conclusion and it is now hoped that other planned improvements of our shore side facilities will follow.”

Loch Fyne Community Biosecurity Action Plan

We would like to remind users of Loch Fyne to stay vigilant for the invasive species known as Carpet Sea Squirt – Didemnum vexillum – which is now present in Scottish waters.

"Carpet Sea Squirt can grow rapidly to cause heavy biofouling with impacts for boats and infrastructure and it can smother immobile species including farmed shellfish as well as natural features."
