Election of Trustees to Board of Tarbert (Loch Fyne) Harbour Authority

This is a voluntary position requiring a commitment of 1- 2 days per month. Existing Trustees are eligible for re-election.

Tarbert (Loch Fyne) Harbour Authority, a Trust Port, is seeking applications from candidates wishing to stand for election to the Board of Trustees. The Board is made up of eight Trustees with local or specialised interests and elected individuals who serve for a minimum period of three years.

Four existing Trustees will have fulfilled their terms in March 2026 and whilst they are all free to seek re-election, these potential candidates can be joined by others who believe they have the relevant skills and experiences. Only four candidates will be elected with the election taking place on 10 March 2026 and successful candidates being appointed on 1 April 2026.

We are seeking to appoint four individuals with a commitment to furthering the aims of THA for the wider benefit of our stakeholders. Candidates should be able to demonstrate ability and a proven track record in their chosen trade, profession, or field of work experience. Commitment and experience are as valuable as qualifications.
Trustees will work with senior and professional staff, so experience of achieving results through demanding board or committee work is important, as is the ability to grasp complex issues quickly and express yourself clearly. Residence within the local area is a requirement and familiarity with local issues in the region surrounding the port are highly desirable.

The position of Trustee is non-remunerated.
